The man behind the initiative, Senator Tom Coburn (R), enforced an addition to the new economic stimulus bill: mainly, a prohibition on funding parks, museums, theaters, stadiums, casinos, golf courses, and art centers.
The Senate passed the amendment, 73-24, but followers do not know if Coburn's initiative passed.
